Decisions, Decisions
You may have your ideal
spec already worked out but to some a blank sheet can
be a little intimidating. However the initial
consultation will quickly help you focus and refine
your ideas.
Normally carried out via a combination of emails and phone calls, you can expect a two way exchange of ideas and some recommendations as I guide you through the initial steps in ordering your own personal custom built instrument.

What next
After the initial
consultation and once a spec has been agreed a custom
build sheet will be drawn up that reflects all that
was discussed and agreed upon. This sheet will be
sent to you for your approval, it must be signed and
returned before any part of the process can be
started.
At that time a third of the total cost will be required as deposit, a further third is then paid once all the 'woodwork' has been completed and prior to finishing. The outstanding balance must be paid before shipping or prior to collection.

Changes
After the spec has been
agreed, and signed for, some changes may still be
possible but not all requests can be accommodated. If
the change results in an additional cost this will be
agreed at the time and added to the outstanding
balance.
Build schedule and Lead times
I make every effort to
give a realistic and accurate delivery estimate based
on the specifications of your guitar and the number
of other guitars under construction at the time the
order is placed. However things can and do change
when dealing with lead times of a year or more.
Each and every guitar is afforded the same degree of attention but be advised there will be periods of perceived inactivity during the build. I will keep you updated via email, please remember however that the more time I spend communicating the progress of your (and everybody else's) guitar the less time I have to spend in the workshop doing the important stuff.

Pricing
As these are true
custom guitars the price really does depend on the
spec, but for guidance I have included the following.
Carved top set neck guitars, standard spec would be 5a flame Maple over honduran Mahogany body and neck, start at £3000 including case.
Flat top guitars with bolt on necks, typically with solid or sunburst finish over Swamp Ash or Alder body, start at £2350 including case.
Left Handed guitars are available at no extra cost.
